OUR STORY LOCAL PASSION Andy Strub’s love for food and more specifically, local food, inspired him to approach OMAFRA for a grant to support start up and existing companies producing new products. With months of work and collaboration with experts in the field, a grant was awarded and SHOP YOUR ONTARIO was born. As an online farmer’s market, this robust and dynamic e- commerce site will allow local makers to promote their products directly to many more consumers and businesses than they could reach on their own. A GOAL FOR THE COMMON GOOD Ourend goal is to create an e-commerce site for Ontario agri-food companies that: Creates new, expanded or enhanced e-business capabilities, gaining greater visibility to the general public and trade Expands new markets and revenue streams Meets broader business needs across the sector Removes the frustration and expense of building e-commerce sites Facilitates partnerships and collaborations for the common good LEVERAGING TECHNOLOGY TO WIN BIGGER SHOP YOUR ONTARIO addresses the need for smaller local food processors to “punch above their weight class” using ebusinesscapability in order to compete and grow in markets still dominated by the largemulti nationalfood companies. HOW IT WORKS We process orders, payments and you simply ship direct to Erb transport for consolidated shipments to customers We list details on each product, the brand story, recipe ideas, etc. We will have content ranging from cooking tips for products on the site, to relevant content about new products, to a strong representation of the companies that it actively represents.
