TO REGISTER, PLEAE SEND THE FORM TO: SEOUL-RSVP@international.gc.ca K-Pet Mission 2019 Application Form South Korean pet food and product market is one of the key export markets for Canadian brand - Canada, the fifth-largest pet food supplier to South Korea, recorded the highest CAGR, 40.2%, among the top five suppliers from 2013 to 2017 and accounted for 7.1% of the world's pet food exports to South Korea. Given the rapid increase of pet population from 4.9 million pets in 2014 to 7.5 million pets in 2018 and with its continuous growth from 2019 to 2023, with a CAGR of 2.8%, market potentials for the sector remain robust. Moreover, over 70% of products, including food, are imported and amongst them, premium, high quality products, such as cat litter, beauty supplies, rental/delivery services, pet glamping, pet hotel, etc., are supplied by goods from Canada, USA, Europe and Japan. That being so, there would be significant market potential for Canadian brands in Korea together with the significant preferential treatment for Canadian products in the market with the CKFTA benefits (tariff exemption for dog and cat food from Canada). If you are a Canadian pet food or products manufacturer, new to this market and looking for a buyer in Korea, K-Pet Mission 2019 will be a great start to expand your business! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Please note that this mission aims to provide targeted services to the Canadian exporters with products or brands which are NOT currently being represented or sold in the Korean market.
