ESC IBS Consortium Minutes from May 26, 2020 Meeting was called to order at 2:05 pm Eastern Time Attendance: Chris Cole DTE Melissa Farrar Washington Gas Kelly Gabbard Chesapeake Utilities Barb started the meeting by mentioning that Bill Cantrell, SGA, submitted his proposal to speak on our behalf at the 2021 IBS. All requests to present were due by May 22. As you may recall we discussed on last month’s call the desire to have someone present on our behalf. Thank you to Corey Minshew for recommending and reaching out to Bill. Bill has a presentation that he has used to discuss the benefits of natural gas and he tweaked it for this speaking slot. We all thought it was best for Bill to speak about how the future holds a space for both gas and electric and we should not go in with a full court press to bash electric. NAHB will now review all entries and they will decide who will present. We will keep you apprised of NHAB’s decision. Kiosk Vendors: Barb noted that we did secure one new vendor so far for the 2021 show. We currently have 9 vendors and we hope to secure at least 2 more. Many of “our regulars” wait until the last minute to respond. Due to the current work environment Barb has not been making as many attempts to reach people as many bounce-back email have been received. Shirts for 2021?: Melissa Farrar asked if we planned to organize having members purchase a shirt to wear in the booth so we have a uniform appearance. Barb was skeptical that everyone would order to shirt. Also, if someone wanted to wear a jacket or sweater in the booth the shirt would not be seen anyway. Chris Cole suggested getting magnetic badges to designate the people in the booth who could answer questions. Barb will look into finding and ordering badgers. Open Discussion: Members on the call asked if AGA was on board from a financial perspective. Barb answered that both AGA and ESC will be funding the shortfall that occurs with supporting this endeavor. This is a win-win situation since no one company is left holding the bag. Barb reiterated that this was a slow time with respect to the IBS so we will go to an every other month call until things pick up. Questions can be directed to Barb anytime. With no additional issues raised at this time the call was adjourned at 2:25pm Eastern time.
