ESC IBS Consortium Minutes from November 26, 2019 Meeting was called to order at 2:02 pm Eastern Time Attendance: DTE Chris Cole National Fuel Marti Sawyer NJNG Craig Trautweiler Logo Shirts: Chris Cole, DTE, had suggested at an earlier meeting that IBS members who plan to work the booth at the IBS wear similar shirts with their company logo as well as the AGA logo. The thought was that all of us who were there to assist and talk about natural gas had a uniform look and stood out from others in the booth. DTE offered to set up a “store” through Land’s End. Members who planned to work the booth would need to make sure the appropriate company logo was uploaded. Chris was going to find out what type of file was required for the logo. Barb noted that she would get the AGA logo. Barb and Chris will finalize details after the Thanksgiving holiday. Each attendee will be responsible for ordering their own shirt. Thank you, Chris! Working the Booth: Attendance at the 2020 IBS is of course optional for IBS member companies. However, for those who plan to attend the show please let Barb know who will be attending from your company noting any times that they can be scheduled to work the booth. It is very important that the people follow the schedule that is established. We do not want to have a large group of people show up at once with the result of clogging the traffic flow in the booth. Space will be tight and we want to ensure that visitors have easy access to all vendors. Booth: The layout for the booth has been finalized; we have 12 vendors occupying 15 kiosks. Over the weekend Barb send in the application for the temporary burn permit along with almost 3 pounds of paperwork! Barb has also been busy securing badges and hotel rooms for vendors (we do not pay for their room but we do set up their reservations), and ordering services for the event (rigging, utilities, etc.). Everything seems to be going along smoothly. Budget: In spite of the additional vendors, our budget predictions still show us in the red. Dave Weiss has met with AGA and they do see the importance of having a presence at the show especially in light of the electrification initiatives that have been gaining ground. AGA mentioned that they would reach out to the propane association to see if they would also like to support our endeavor. Not knowing what type of financial support we will be receiving ESC is not sure if there will be an increase in cost to utility members or kiosk vendors. We hope to have things finalized in the next few weeks and we will keep everyone in the loop. If you have any specific questions don’t hesitate to ask. Speaker at IBS: We have also secured Neil Leslie, GTI, as a speaker for the Codes and Standards committee meeting to be held on Sunday morning; Neil will be speaking about electrification issues. His specific title will be: Electrification: Implications for Natural Gas Direct Use. It will cover electrification initiatives, rationale, and implementation approaches. It will also cover the impact on natural gas direct use, and will provide an alternative pathway that retains consumer choice for valued energy services while achieving carbon reduction objectives highlighted by the intergovernmental panel on climate change in its reports. Social Media: Chris Cole, DTE, mentioned that one of their employees, Madeline Pawloski, will be attending the IBS and she is very tech savvy. She will help us promote the booth on social media. Barb, Jennifer Wilt and Madeline will be discussing the best ways to promote to the show after the Thanksgiving holiday.
